What we do
A build needs two things that are usually bought in two completely different ways: the materials, and the people who put them up. BuildLink carries both in one place, under one account, with one way of paying.
Materials, by the load
Cement, blocks, granite and sharp sand, reinforcement rods, roofing sheets, tiles and fittings — from suppliers whose registration has been checked, with the delivery fee and window shown against the seller rather than discovered later.
Trades, by the job
Builders, plumbers, electricians, tilers, architects and engineers, booked the same way a bag of cement is bought — the price agreed up front, and the payment held until the work is done.
Why it exists
Three things go wrong when you buy building materials from someone you found online. The marketplace is built around fixing each one.
You pay first and hope
The usual way to buy materials online here is a transfer to an account you were sent, before anything is dispatched. We hold the money instead, and release it to the seller once the order is confirmed delivered.
Anyone can call themselves a supplier
A phone number and a photograph of a lorry is not a business. Every seller here submits registration and identity documents, and a settlement account in the business name, before a single listing goes live.
The quote is never the final price
Delivery is priced per seller and shown with the delivery window before you pay, on the cart and again at checkout. Nothing is added between the last screen and the total.
What you get on every order
Your money is held safely
Payment is released to the seller only after your order is confirmed delivered — not when you pay.
Every vendor is checked
Business registration and settlement account confirmed before a seller can list anything.
Delivery across Nigeria
Fees and delivery windows are shown per seller before you pay, never added at the end.
Seven-day returns
Report a wrong or damaged item within seven days of delivery and we handle the refund.
How an order works
Find what you need
Search the catalogue or browse a department. Each listing shows the seller, their state, the delivery fee and how long dispatch takes.
Pay into the hold
Bank transfer, card, or on delivery in Lagos. A basket with three sellers in it is three fulfilments under one payment, and the cart says so before you reach checkout.
The seller dispatches
The order reaches the seller’s dashboard as soon as payment clears, and you can follow it from your account at any point.
Delivery confirms, seller is paid
Money leaves the hold and becomes owed to the seller only once the order is confirmed delivered. If it never arrives, it comes back to you.
The hold is the part that matters. Clause 5 of the terms sets out exactly when money moves.
Before a vendor can sell here
“Verified vendor” on this site means something specific, and it is worth spelling out rather than leaving as a tick beside a shop name.
Business registration
A registered company gives its CAC number and uploads the certificate. A sole trader is not asked for one — requiring a CAC certificate would shut out most of the traders this marketplace exists for — but still proves who they are.
The person behind it
A government identity document for the owner or a director, uploaded and reviewed by an administrator before the account is approved.
A settlement account
A bank account in the business name, confirmed before approval. Payouts go there and nowhere else, which is what keeps a seller traceable after a bad order.
Their listings, before and after
New sellers are reviewed by an administrator, and any listing can be pulled at any time. Verification is not a badge kept regardless of how a seller then trades.
